Safety & information

Local insight is not a safety clearance.

Last updated · 24 October 2026

No live conditions

The Shorey map on this site is a prototype with sample reports and illustrative photos. Its coloured markers, observations and timestamps are not live assessments. A positive-looking beach, clear photograph or missing report does not establish safe conditions.

Coastal decisions

Conditions can change rapidly and vary along a beach. Photographs cannot establish water quality, currents, underwater hazards or whether it is safe to swim. Follow local signage, lifeguard instructions and official warnings. Do not use the map for marine navigation.

Storms and emergencies

WeReady Labs’ preparedness work is a future direction, not a current emergency alert or response service. Do not rely on this website to decide whether to evacuate or to request rescue. In an emergency, contact local emergency services directly and follow official instructions. See the Barbados government’s Department of Emergency Management information for official preparedness contacts.

Contribute responsibly

Never approach rough water, flooding, unstable ground or an active emergency to take a photograph. Respect private property and people’s privacy. Future Shorey contributions should be made only from a safe, lawful location; no observation is worth putting someone at risk.

Research and corrections

AI-assisted analysis and community observations require validation and can contain errors. They do not replace qualified professional assessment. To flag inaccurate website content, email hello@wereadylabs.org. This inbox is not an emergency reporting channel.
